My Journey to Health

If I am to help anyone else, I must first help myself with the changes that I want to have in my own life. With the help of ChatGPT, we put together a 12-week plan for eating healthy, exercising regularly, and developing a positive mindset all along the way. While in a book group where we are discussing the book, “The Art of Impossible” by Steven Kotler, I realized how important it is for me to start on my own journey to reach the next level of my growth.

This is my first week on this plan. I started out a little rocky, but I’m ending it strong and on plan. So far, my biggest challenges have been the different stresses I’ve encountered, especially at the beginning of the week. Hence, why I got off to a rocky start. However, the breathing exercises, as well as the positive mindset exercises have proven to be a great help in getting me past most of the stresses and back on plan.

The plan starts out slow, then builds from there. I won’t be jumping into a rigorous exercise program or going on any fasts right away. I will build into it as I go along. There are things I miss, like an occasional glass of wine. However, I can feel the difference in just one week by not having that wine at all. I am sleeping better and I feel better. So, I know I am on the right path for me.

One last point I want to make, is that even though I used AI, I had to definitely fine tune the plan to fit my own personal journey. AI just helped me organize it and to give me some ideas I hadn’t thought about. I would have liked to have had an accountability buddy, so I am using this blog post for that purpose.

This week, I walked at least 30 minutes per day. I have a dog, so that hasn’t been tough to do. Plus, I have been working out in the yard, getting it ready for the winter. Two days this week, I walked over 10,000 steps! YAY! I have decided to eat more of a Paleo diet, combined with a Mediterranean one. I used to be on Trim Healthy Mama which is similar. This is just a modification of Trim Healthy Mama. As for the mindset, I am incorporating breathing techniques with prayer and meditation, as well as positive self-talk. The changes that I am working towards within these 12-weeks are to lose weight, gain energy, reduce inflammation, and keeping my mind sharp for instructional design work, NLP trainings, better relationships, and overall better lifestyle choices. Also, we have 17 grandchildren that I want to keep up with. LOL

Well, talk to you next week. Be well!
